This Is Best State to Get Married In, According to a New Study
The perfect place to say “I do.”
When thinking of Vermont, visions of lush forests (which carpet 76% of the state), charming towns, and high-quality maple syrup come to mind.
Now, the Green Mountain State has received a new boost to its positive reputation. According to a new study by custom engagement and wedding ring company Glamira, Vermont is the best state to get married in. Cue the wedding bells.
This accolade was awarded to Vermont based on data like how many local wedding attire and accessories companies and catering businesses there are in each of the 50 states, along with the average cost of wedding expenses and wedding planning services. The results were then cataloged into an index and used to determine the best states to get married in.
Reigning supreme, Vermont achieved a final index score of 73.88 out of 100. The state also ranked first in the wedding venues and accommodations section, as well as the wedding planning section. With 603 florists and floral services, 489 photography services, and 479 beauty and grooming services, Vermont offers a wealth of wedding day assistance.
Coming in second for the best state to get married in is Rhode Island, followed by Montana in third. Alaska ranked last on the study as the worst state to get hitched.
An active Vermont Subreddit backs up this study with users sharing everything from best wedding venues in the state to top bakery recs for wedding treats. Even TikTok’s #vermontwedding search features a slew of cottage core-esque wedding inspo.
All of this to say, Vermont would certainly be a picturesque backdrop for your special day. Now all that’s left is finding that perfect spot to say “I do.”
